Manchester City Manager Pep Guardiola Plotting Shock Reunion With FC Barcelona Star
Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola is reportedly plotting a shock reunion with one of his former FC Barcelona stars.
According to the Daily Mirror, the former Blaugrana coach is keen to make an audacious attempt to lure Andres Iniesta to the Etihad.
The 33-year-old, who signed a "contract for life" with the Spanish giants in October, is apparently considering a move away from the Camp Nou as his game time has lessened since the arrival of Philippe Coutinho from Liverpool in January.
Guardiola, who coached the Spanish playmaker between 2008 and 2012, is rumoured to be keeping a close eye on developments involving Iniesta as he is keen on having the veteran's experience and expertise at the Manchester club, even if only for a couple of seasons.
Although the playmaker is not as mobile as he used to be, the Spain international has won eight La Liga titles, four Champions League trophies and the 2010 FIFA World Cup with his country.
Iniesta has made 31 appearances for Barcelona so far this season, scoring one goal and assisting a further three strikes.
