Manchester United manager Louis Van Gaal revealed that if he was allowed to bet, then he would bet on the Red Devils to lift the FA Cup this year.
Van Gaal’s men breezed past Cambridge United last night in a 3-0 thumping and are now the highest qualified team left in the competition.
The Dutchman seemed slightly bemused that the media had made United the favourites for the prestigious trophy, but entertained the opinions of the press.
"We have a real chance now. Why? We are the highest qualified team in the FA Cup so our status is the highest." He told reporters, quoted by ESPN.
"People are maybe betting on us.
"I am not allowed to and I am not a casino man but I give you a tip. Of course, I think the highest qualified teams have more possibilities to win than lower qualified teams."
Van Gaal pointed out that he has made the FA Cup a priority this season, and also highlighted the fact that he always wins a title in his first season - no matter where is coaches.
"For me, personally, I won always a title in my first year everywhere where I worked so the chance to win a title is bigger with the FA Cup than the Premier League.” he added.
The Red Devils will face Preston North End in the next round of the FA Cup.
