Manchester United boss Louis Van Gall has issued a strict warning to all of his players at Manchester United.
Speaking ahead of his side’s clash with West Ham later today, Van Gaal said that all of his players will be fighting to earn themselves a place in his squad, as well as his starting XI.
“I think all of them are playing for their future and all of them are aware of that. They know they have to perform. Not just in the matches, but also on the training pitch,” he told ESPN.
The former Bayern Munich insisted that his players now know that they have to give their all in training and on the pitch in order to keep hold of or challenges for roles within the squad, before concluding that making decisions to change his team have not been easy.
"It always has to be 100 percent. Maybe a lot of players were not aware of that -- but now they know,” he added.
“It is not easy for me (to make tough decisions) because I know that most of my players are trying to do their utmost best.
“When you see that as a manager, then it is very hard to say to someone, 'You have to go.'"
Manchester United are currently fourth in the English Premier League, but have the chance to go up to third if they manage to claim all three points at Upton Park tonight.
