An insider has claimed that Real Madrid want to sign Liverpool star Mohamed Salah, but there is a huge stumbling block.
The Egyptian raised eyebrows just before Christmas when he seemingly flirted with the idea of moving to Los Blancos or FC Barcelona one day, although some think this was a ploy to secure a bigger contract at Anfield.
Liverpool, though, are believed to be calm about the Salah's future on Merseyside, with his current contract only expiring in June 2023.
Former Los Blancos president Ramon Calderon has now sparked new speculation, insisting that the Madrid giants are keen on Salah's services, but know they would have pay a huge fee to secure his signature.
"A great player and a goalscorer. He helped Liverpool by giving out his best, but I don't think they will let him go," Calderon told ONTime.
"It is expected that if they think about it, they will let him go only for a lot of money.
"Salah is wanted, of course, by Real Madrid, but Liverpool will ask for a lot of money, and if that deal is completed, it will be crucial."
The 28-year-old has scored 24 goals in 36 appearances across all competitions for the Reds so far this season, which is already one more than he had to his name at the end of the 2019/20 campaign.
