It has been claimed that if the 2019/20 Premier League season does not resume due to the coronavirus outbreak in England, Liverpool should not be handed the title despite the Reds being 25 points clear of second place.
It was announced last week that the EPL, along with other football leagues across the country, would be suspended until early next month.
With there being no indication that the league will resume this campaign, there appears to be little knowledge as to what will happen if that was the case, something that seems to be concerning Liverpool supporters.
The Merseyside club is 25 points ahead of second-place Manchester City, and were well on their way to claiming their first league title in 30 years.
Former Newcastle United striker Alan Shearer, however, has argued that the Reds should not be awarded the trophy if the campaign was ended early due to the virus as they do not yet have the points tally that would see them clear winners.

"Not completing the season has to be the very last option on the table," he wrote in a column for The Sun.
"Every angle and scenario has to be looked at in order to reach a conclusion, even if that means a long delay before playing into next season.
"If, and it is a huge if, the season cannot be completed, then there is no way you can have a winner or loser.
"As harsh and as horrible as that would be for some clubs, none more so than Liverpool, it is the only outcome.
"If you cannot complete the fixtures, then you cannot go handing out titles or consider relegating anybody. For Liverpool, it would be incredibly harsh.
"But I cannot see how it would be fair to hand them the title – despite the fact it is obvious nobody is going to catch them.
"They only need six points to wrap it up, but they haven't got them yet, so for that reason it has to be declared null and void.
"It would be very different if the season was suspended after they had got the points to win it.
"But they haven't and however horrible a scenario it would be, it's the only option."
