Premier League side Liverpool have released a statement on Brazilian star Philippe Coutinho's future at the club amid FC Barcelona's reported interest in the player.

'R4.7bn For Messi Is Possible'

The Blaugrana have reportedly been interested in the playmaker for the past few transfer windows, and recent reports suggest the club have rejected two bids from the Catalans in this window alone.

Liverpool have now released a statement reiterating that the player is not for sale at any cost.

"We wish to offer clarity as regards our position on a possible transfer of Philippe Coutinho," the statement on the Reds' official website read.

"The club's definitive stance is that no offers for Philippe will be considered and he will remain a member of Liverpool Football Club when the summer window closes."

Most Expensive XI Of This Season's EPL Transfers

The 25-year-old has played 181 games for Liverpool since joining them in 2013, scoring 42 goals and assisting a further 37 strikes.

Who do you think Barca should attempt to lure to Spain now that Coutinho is seemingly no longer an option for them? Let us know in the comments section below.

They should ask the player to make a transfer request! Other than that there's no one who deserves to don the blaugrana more than him! And Liverpool won't win anything with or without him, they just adding numbers like PSG at the champions league!
