Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp says he will do everything he can to help Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane get closer to the Ballon d'Or.
Former AC Milan star George Weah is the only African player to have won the coveted individual accolade.
Mane finished 23rd in the 2017 edition, while Salah did not make the top 30 despite shining for AS Roma and Egypt last year.
"Whatever we can do to help, we try to [concerning the Ballon d’Or]," Klopp was quoted as saying by the Mirror.
"African players are no different to other players in the world. I look for the football skills.
"I had a problem with the African Cup. That means they are out for four, five, six games. I didn’t like that.
"I’m a fan of the new decision to do it in the summer. It’ll open the market for African players.
"If we can help to bring Mo and Sadio closer to the Balon d’Or, we will try."
