De Bruyne Addresses Pogba's Controversial Comments

Manchester City playmaker Kevin De Bruyne has discussed the recent controversial statements made by Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba ahead of the two clubs' derby this weekend.

Pogba: One Thing I Hate About Mourinho's Training

In an interview before United's 3-1 win over Arsenal on Saturday, Pogba suggested he would like to see Pep Guardiola's side suffer from the same injury issues that United have had to endure this season – a comment that did not go down to well with many.

Pogba was then sent off for a tackle on Hector Bellerin in United's clash with the Gunners, but De Bruyne does not believe it is karma for what he said about the Citizens.

"I don’t believe in that s***," he said, according to FourFourTwo.

"If someone believes it is karma, then okay. Everyone has their right to their opinion.

"I don't want anyone to get injured. You want to play against the best teams and the best players.

"He can say whatever he wants. I don't care. We just have to be focused on whatever we're doing."

The Belgian was also asked if he thinks United will miss Pogba in the Manchester derby this weekend.

"It depends what they want to do," he added.

"Pogba's a massive player. I know him a little bit. He's unbelievable. He took a red card and that's the way it goes: you have injuries and suspensions."

Pogba has been one of United's most influential players this season, although he has also spent some time out on the sidelines with an injury, and will now miss his side's next three league games through suspension.

Guardiola Responds To Pogba's Controversial Comment

The 24-year-old has featured 11 times in this campaign so far, scoring three goals and assisting a further five strikes.
