It has been reported Arsenal could see their main transfer target join another one of Europe's giant clubs.
New reports suggest that Juventus are now heavily favoured to land striker Dusan Vlahovic's signature ahead of the Gunners.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the Italian club has prepared a "player-plus-cash" bid for Fiorentina consisting of Dejan Kulusevski and €35 million (R601 million) in a deal worth €70 million (R1.2 billion) to avoid running the risk of facing stiffer competition at the end of the season for the player.
With only 10 days of the window left, the Bianconeri may have left it too late, although the 21-year-old is said to be desperate to join Massimiliano Allegri's side regardless.
Reports in Italy have claimed that this is probably the reason why he has declined Arsenal's advances as he was holding out for a move to the Allianz Stadium.
The Gunners reportedly also made a player-plus-cash bid for the forward, offering Fiorentina €60 million (R1 billion) plus Lucas Torreira, who is currently on loan at the Italian club. This offer was said to have been accepted by the side from Florence, but the Gunners now look set to lose out on the attacker to Juve.
