Since Klopp's arrival at Liverpool in 2015, no fewer than 23 new signings have taken to the pitch in the famous red jersey. Soccer Laduma's international team, consisting of editor David Kappel, sub-editor Daniel Mendes, Kurt Buckerfield and Liam Bekker each cast their votes to determine which of those players rank among the German tactician's top 10 signings at the club.
Following a tallying up of the votes, Netherlands international Virgil van Dijk reigned supreme over his peers by earning 37 points out of a possible 40. The former Southampton star joined the Reds in January 2018 for £75 million (R1.5 billion), and has been a juggernaut in the heart of defence ever since.
Van Dijk played a starring role in the club's 2019/20 UEFA Champions League, 2019 UEFA Super Cup and 2019 FIFA Club World Cup triumphs, and his performances were rewarded with the 2018/19 Premier League Player of the Season and UEFA Men's Player of the Year awards, while he also narrowly missed out on the Ballon d'Or crown to Lionel Messi last year.
The 28-year-old is followed by two-thirds of Liverpool's attacking triumvirate in the form of Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah, who both earned 34 voting points each. The former teamed up with Klopp in 2016 following a then-African record £34 million (R694 million) move from the Saints, while the latter joined a year later from AS Roma.
Salah has been the more prolific of the African pair in front of goal, with the Egypt star scoring 91 goals in 144 appearances for the Reds and earning two Premier League Golden Boot awards in the process. Mane isn't far behind with a haul of 77 strikes in 161 appearances, and shared the 2018/19 Golden Boot with his strike partner.
Star goalkeeper Alisson Becker, who won the Premier League Golden Glove and Champions League Goalkeeper of the Season awards last season, is the only other player to earn more than 30 votes, putting him ahead of the likes of Andrew Robertson, Georginio Wijnaldum and Fabinho.
