Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has explained why Mohamed Salah was dropped to the bench for the clash against Crystal Palace.
The Red moved six points clear at the top of the Premier League table after thrashing Palace 7-0 at Selhurst Park on Saturday afternoon.
Salah started on the bench, but managed to bag a brace and an assist in the second half after replacing Sadio Mane.
Before the match, comments from Salah about Barcelona and Real Madrid surfaced which led to speculation that he was dropped for those remarks.
However, Klopp insists this was the first time he was given the opportunity to rest Salah and spoke about his interview with Spanish publication AS.

"First time for a while we had opportunity [to change]," Klopp said, according to the Daily Mirror.
"Mo played last 4 games in an intense period.
"Bringing him for the last half was a good idea, so that is it. I have nothing to say [about the AS interview]. All fine from my side."
