Ahead of the Reds' final game of the 2021/22 Premier League season, the former Borussia Dortmund manager has verified that striker Divock Origi will indeed be leaving the club at the end of the season.
"I expect Div to get a special reception," the German tactician said in a pre-match press conference, as per Paul Gorst of the Liverpool Echo.
"One of the most important players I ever had. He was and is a pure joy to work with. It's not ever yet but he deserves all good thought we can generate for his future. He'll be a success. Outstanding."
The Belgian forward has scored some important goals during his time in Merseyside, most notably the two goals at Anfield against Barcelona in the semi-finals of the 2018/19 UEFA Champions League, as well as a goal in that season's final against Tottenham Hotspur at the Wanda Metropolitano.
Origi is expected to join current Serie A log leaders AC Milan.
