After Mesut Ozil threw a jibe Tottenham Hotspur’s way recently on social media, Jose Mourinho responded to his former Real Madrid superstar’s remarks.
The Arsenal outcast hosted a Q&A on Twitter on Monday night, in which he answered a wide variety of questions, including one that got people talking.
Asked whether he would join Spurs or retire, Ozil revealed he would find hanging up his boots more appealing, perhaps due to the Lilywhites being the Gunners’ fierce North London rivals.
As expected, the 2014 FIFA World Cup winner’s comments made their way to Mourinho, who, ahead of their Premier League clash with Fulham on Wednesday, was asked his thoughts on Ozil’s remark.
The Portuguese did not appear too concerned about the 32-year-old’s jibe, saying: "Who told him that Tottenham would be interested in signing him?"
Ozil was perhaps at his peak under Mourinho from 2010 to 2013, during which he contributed to 107 goals in 157 matches across all competitions.
