Jose Mourinho Planning Shock Transfer Bid?
Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is said to be plotting a move for a surprise star.
Arsenal superstar Alexis Sanchez was nearly on his way to Manchester City in the recent window, but because the Gunners could not find a replacement for the player, the deal reportedly fell through.
The Chilean, who has a year left on his contract, was said to be upset he could not join the Citizens in August, and he could now move on from Arsenal for free at the end of the season.
The only way Sanchez could leave Arsene Wenger's side for a transfer fee is if the London club accepts a bid for him in January, which would be their last chance to make money from him.
Now, according to The Sun, Mourinho has joined the race for the Chile star's signature, and apparently hopes a £25 million (R450 million) signing-on fee will be enough to tempt him to join the Old Trafford club.
According to the report, City are still favourites to sign the 28-year-old who scored 30 goals and created a further 19 strikes in 51 games for Arsenal last season.
