Jose Mourinho Identifies Paul Pogba Replacement?
Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has reportedly identified the midfield star he wants to bring in to replace Paul Pogba at the Red Devils.
According to the Daily Mirror, the Portuguese wants to lure Shakhtar Donetsk holding midfielder Fred to Old Trafford at the end of the season.
It is believed that the manager sees the Brazilian as a possible replacement for Pogba, whom he is said to have run out of patience with.
It has been claimed that Mourinho feels Fred is a player he can rely more on tactically as he is known to not stray from his deep midfield position.
The Brazilian has also reportedly been chased by local rivals Manchester City in recent months, and was reportedly close to joining the Citizens in January.
Former Arsenal midfielder Gilberto Silva, who represents Fred, has already spoken of his client's wishes to join a team in the Premier League.
The 25-year-old Brazilian has played 32 times for his side this season, scoring four goals and assisting a further five strikes.
Pogba has contributed to 15 strikes in 30 games for the Red Devils so far in this campaign, with 10 of those contributions being assists.
