Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has reportedly identified a replacement for Antonio Valencia, who some feel is entering the twilight of his career.
The Ecuadorian has been one of the Portuguese tactician's most consistent performers over the past two seasons, and has also been entrusted with the captain's armband when on the field.
According to the Daily Express, Mourinho is already on the lookout for a suitable replacement for the South American, and there are rumours he will go for Croatia international Ivan Perisic once again.
The Red Devils tried to sign the Inter Milan star at the beginning of the season, but the English club failed to come up with an offer that suited the Serie A side.
Mourinho will now reportedly reignite his interest in the 29-year-old, whom he thinks could dominate the right flank over the next few years.
Although in good physical condition, Valencia turns 33 in August this year, and many apparently feel the experienced Croatian campaigner is going to be needed to eventually step into the Ecuador star's boots.
Perisic has made 25 appearances for Inter so far this season, scoring seven goals and assisting six further strikes.
