The Egypt international was heavily linked with a move to the Turkish Super Lig in the previous transfer window, with Galatasaray reportedly keen on the midfielder's services.
Elneny's Gunners contract expires at the end of this season, but the player's father has confirmed he will remain in north London for the campaign.
"Arteta wants Mohamed to stay. He might need him in the coming period so he will remain until the end of the season," Elneny senior told Shams TV, as quoted by Kingfut.
"I hope that he will end his career at Al Ahly."
When asked about Elneny before the loss to Liverpool on Saturday, Arteta told the club's website: "Again, I am really happy with Mo. I won't be discussing individually other players, and it's not time to do so."
