Paul Pogba provided an assist and scored a goal in Manchester United's 2-0 FA Cup victory against Chelsea, with a Red Devils legend subsequently suggesting that he is currently the best player in the Premier League.
The FIFA World Cup-winning midfielder produced another scintillating performance as United recorded their first victory at Stamford Bridge since October 2012, when they were still under the helm of Sir Alex Ferguson.
Since Ole Gunnar Solksjaer took over the reins at Old Trafford, following the sacking of Jose Mourinho in December 2018, Pogba has been the second most influential Premier League player, having a hand in a total of 14 goals. Only Tottenham Hotspur talisman Son Heung-Min has more with 16 goal involvements.
Former Everton defender Phil Neville, who made over 300 appearances for United, showered praise on Pogba after his exploits against Chelsea, claiming that the former Juventus superstar is currently the best player in the league.
"It was like watching the Man United of old. Solskjaer got the tactics spot on and right now, under him, I don’t see a better player in the Premier League than Paul Pogba," he was quoted as telling BBC Sport.
"It’s been an incredible turnaround for United to come here and play with that arrogance and spirit."
Pogba has registered a total of 32 appearances for United in all competitions this season, finding the back of the net on 14 ocassions, while being on hand to assist a further ten strikes.
