According to English publication The Sun, the former FC Barcelona coach is expected to tweak his formation to suit his new arrivals. Guardiola is expected to play a 3-4-2-1 formation, similar to what Chelsea Antonio Conte uses from time to time.
The Citizens have made five signings already, but only three are expected to walk straight into the first XI for the upcoming campaign.
Chile international Claudio Bravo is expected to lose his starting place in goals to former Benfica No. 1 Ederson. The Brazilian signed for £34.9 million (R594 million), and is expected to immediately become the club's first choice shot-stopper.
City are said to be looking at playing with a back three next season, and the English publication believes that John Stones, Vincent Kompany and Nicolas Otamendi could be that trio. The Manchester side will hope they can keep all three men fit for most of the campaign if they are to challenge for silverware.
In midfield, we might see Yaya Toure and David Silva partnering up, while Kyle Walker and Benjamin Mendy could occupy the two wing-back roles.
Guardiola is expected to play two attacking midfielders in front of the Ivorian and the Spaniard, with Gabriel Jesus and Kevin De Bruyne possibly slotting into those positions.
Argentina forward Sergio Aguero is expected to lead the line once again for the English side. His pace, power and clinical finishing has proved vital for the team in past seasons, and Guardiola will be counting on him to continue his work up front.
