The reigning league champions have not been as convincing as they were last season under Conte, who is said to be looking to add to his squad before the January transfer window shuts.
The Blues have been heavily linked with Roma duo Dzeko, one of Serie A's top hitmen, and Emerson Palmieri, a natural left-sided wing-back.
If Conte does lure these two players to Stamford Bridge, it is difficult to imagine the team changing drastically, especially in the left wing-back position, where Marcos Alonso has excelled since his arrival last season.
In goal, fans can still expect Belgian goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois in front of a back three of Antonio Rudiger, Andreas Christensen and the ever consistent Cesar Azpilicueta.
Along with the aforementioned Alonso on the left, Victor Moses is likely to retain his place in the starting XI on the right side.
In midfield, supporters seem to prefer Cesc Fabregas partnering N'Golo Kante instead of Tiemoue Bakayoko, who does appear to be coming into his own.
Eden Hazard would probably start on the left side of attack and Willian on the right side, perhaps with Dzeko up front ahead of Alvaro Morata, who has struggled in recent weeks.
