How Arsenal Could Line Up With Five New Signings

Premier League giants Arsenal have signed five new players ahead of the new season, following the exit of long-serving manager Arsene Wenger. With the new acquisitions in mind, here is how the Gunners could line up in this coming campaign.

New boss Unai Emery has been quick to secure new players ahead of the 2018/19 campaign, and his primary focus was seemingly to shore up his defence, having signed two experienced defenders, as well as a new goalkeeper.

The manager also lured two young midfielders to Arsenal, and both have shown plenty of promise and mature heads in pre-season matches, while the Gunners boast a star-studded attack spearheaded by Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Selecting a team including his new players, Emery could favour 26-year-old Bernd Leno in goal, while Stephan Lichtsteiner might feature at right-back, with new player Sokratis Papastathopoulos and Shkodran Mustafi at centre-back and Sead Kolasinac on the left-hand side of defence.

In a three-man midfield, the boss could use new boys Lucas Torreira and Matteo Guendouzi in deeper roles, with playmaker Mesut Ozil further ahead of them. While Uruguay's Torreira is known for being a no-nonsense tackler, 19-year-old Guendouzi appears to have many facets to his game.

The former Lorient midfielder has a mature head on his shoulders, and is always looking to receive the ball and go forward. The player has already displayed his superb vision and passing range in an Arsenal shirt, when the Gunners took on Paris Saint-Germain in a pre-season friendly this past weekend.

The two new midfielders may shine alongside one another with their contrasting styles, although Emery is likely to rely on his more experienced players early on.

Going forward, Arsenal can devastate Premier League defences with names such as Aubameyang, Alexandre Lacazette and Henrikh Mkhitaryan in attack. This will be their first full season together as a trio in England, but the world has already been made aware of their connection.
