The Egyptian winger had a record-breaking debut season at Liverpool and the club have rewarded his fine form and commitment to the club with a new five-year deal.
Salah now earns weekly wages of £200 000 (R3.6 million), according to Daily Mail, making him the top earner at the Reds. He is also the highest paid African in England’s top flight and sits in joint-tenth spot among the league’s top earners.
The Egyptian’s new deal sees him join Harry Kane’s salary, but he is far off the best earning players in the league. Manchester United’s Alexis Sanchez earns with £500 000 (R8.9 million) more than Kane and Salah combined, while Mesut Ozil follows with £350 000 (R3.6 million) per week.
Paul Pogba, with weekly wages of £290 000 (R5.2 million), completes the top three, followed by Sergio Aguero with £260 000 (R4.7 million) and Kevin De Bruyne with £250 000 (R4.5 million).
Overall, there are four Manchester United players among the 10 highest paid Premier League players, while Manchester City and Chelsea have two representatives, and Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool each have one.
