After it was announced on Thursday that Ajax Amsterdam and Chelsea had reached an agreement for the transfer of the 26-year-old at the end of the season, reports over his potential earnings in England have emerged.
According to TEAMtalk, the playmaker is expected to put pen to paper on a deal worth €120 000 a week (R1.9 million) at Stamford Bridge club, although personal terms are yet to be agreed and confirmed.
Ziyech's transfer will reportedly cost the Premier League giants €40 million (R643 million), a relatively small fee for a player who has taken Europe by storm with his performances in the Eredivisie and UEFA Champions League.
Since his arrival at Ajax in 2016, the winger has contributed to 130 goals in 160 matches, and will be hoping to replicate his brilliance in one of the world's toughest leagues from next season.
If reports regarding his weekly salary in England are to be believed, Ziyech will become the sixth-best-paid African footballer in the Premier League, behind the likes of Sadio Mane, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Mohamed Salah, among others.
