The Metro recently reported that the Red Devils are interested in Napoli's 26-year-old deep-lying playmaker Jorginho, a Brazilian-born Italy international.
The 26-year-old has impressed since establishing himself in Serie A, in which he has made 138 appearances since 2013.
Another target of Mourinho's is Nice's Ivorian midfielder Jean Michael Seri, according to the Daily Express, while Borussia Dortmund's Christian Pulisic recently refused to rule out a move to the Red Devils – a club he is believed to have supported as a youngster.
Brazilian midfielder Fabinho is also said to be an option for Mourinho, with the Brazilian admitting a few weeks ago that he feels his time at Monaco is coming to an end.
Valencia's 21-year-old midfielder Carlos Soler has also been linked with United in recent months.
