FC Barcelona have responded to the rumours linking superstar Luis Suarez with a world-record move to Jose Mourinho's Manchester United.
5 Big Names Backing Messi For Ballon D'Or
Recent reports suggested that Mourinho has urged United to fork out €150 million (R2.2 billion) for the Catalan club's Uruguayan forward.
The goals have dried up for the Red Devils in recent weeks, and the Portuguese boss apparently sees Suarez as the solution to his team's problems going forward.
However, Blaugrana president Josep Maria Bartomeu has insisted the club will do everything they can to make sure the striker remains at the Camp Nou.
"We read, we listen, we see this news, but, of course, our interest in this particular case is that Luis Suarez is happy at Barcelona," the president told Sky Sports.
"We are trying to extend his contract with Barcelona and he is one of our big future efforts because he is still young, he has a vision, a lot of ambition."
