With speculation about Cristiano Ronaldo's future continuing to persist, Manchester United head coach Erik ten Hag has responded to the rumours.
Mane Vows To 'Beat Liverpool' In UCL
In the aftermath of United's failure to qualify for this season's UEFA Champions League, it was revealed that the five-time Ballon d'Or winner had asked to leave the Theatre of Dreams.
Amid ongoing uncertainty over Ronaldo's future, though, Ten Hag has now seemingly hinted that the Portugal captain might not be leaving after all.
Ten Hag had described the Portuguese's departure, along with a few of his teammates, before the final whistle of the Red Devils' 1-1 draw with Rayo Vallecano at Old Trafford last Sunday as "unacceptable" in an interview with a Dutch broadcaster in midweek.
Now, though, the Netherlands native believes the 37-year-old is in a good place ahead of United's season-opener against Brighton & Hove Albion this weekend, which some have interpreted to be a hint that he may stay for this season after all.
"I'm satisfied with the whole team," the 52-year-old Dutchman told the media, as per the Mirror.
"It is working good and Cristiano is working good. We have a top striker and I am really happy."
When asked if Ronaldo would start against Brighton with Anthony Martial out injured, Ten Hag replied: "We'll see on Sunday."
