Venue: Britannia Stadium
Tottenham Hotspur kept the pressure on league leaders Leicester City with an impressive 4-0 win over Stoke City on Monday evening.
Harry Kane nearly handed the visitors the lead as early as the third minute when he was played by Dele Alli, however Shay Given rushed off his line to thwart the striker from 12-yards out.
However, Kane was not to be denied three minutes later as the striker cut in from the left and curled the ball into the far corner to hand Spurs a 1-0 lead.
Hugo Lloris was called into action after 27 minutes, as the Spurs goalkeeper was well positioned to deal Marko Arnautovic's stinging effort from 20-yards out.
Spurs should have doubled their advantage minutes before the halftime break. Alli played in Christian Eriksen with a fine flick, however the Danish midfielder rattled the crossbar with only Given to beat.
Stoke enjoyed a better start to the second half and went close with strikes from Ibrahim Affelay in the first five minutes.
However, the visitors doubled their lead in the 66th minute as Eriksen delightfully picked out Alli, who showed great composure to lob the on-rushing Given, 2-0.
The lead was extended in the 71st minute, as Alli played in Erik Lamela, who in turn teed up Kane for the easiest of tap-ins, 3-0.
Alli made up for his earlier horror miss in the 81st minute, as he fired home a fine volley from the edge of the area to grab Spurs' fourth goal.
The victory moves the London outfit five points behind Leicester, while the Potters remain in ninth position.
