Result: Manchester United 3-0 Tottenham Hotspur
Date: 15 March 2015
Venue: Old Trafford
Goals from Marouane Fellaini, Michael Carrick and Wayne Rooney handed Manchester United a 3-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford on Sunday evening.
The home side got off to the perfect start in the ninth minute when Carrick played a first-time ball for Fellaini, who lashed home a fine low effort into the far corner.
United continued to dominate after taking lead and eventually increased their advantage in the 18th minute courtesy of Carrick's well-placed header.
It got better for the Red Devils after the half an hour mark, as Wayne Rooney pounced on a poor back pass, slipped past two defenders, before slotting past Hugo Lloris for United's third of the game.
Spurs struggled to create any openings in the first half and failed to register a single effort on target.
Louis Van Gaal's side continued to see most of the ball in the second half and they nearly bagged a fourth in the 65th minute but Ander Herrera could only fire into the side-netting from close range.
Harry Kane had a chance to clinch a consolation for Spurs in the 88th minute but the striker fired a low effort straight at David de Gea.
United managed to see out the rest of the game with relative ease and claim their third straight league win.
