Result: Everton 0-0 Liverpool
Date: 07 February 2015
Venue: Goodison Park
Everton and Liverpool played out to a 0-0 in the Merseyside Derby at Goodison Park on Saturday night.
Steven Gerrard was presented with the first chance of the half in the 10th minute but his curling free-kick was tipped over the bar by Joel Robles.
Robles came to Everton's rescue once again in the 17th minute, this time the Spaniard rushed off his line to thwart Jordon Ibe from three-yards out.
The Reds had the best chance of the first half in the 27th minute, as Ibe went on a surging run before rifling an effort against the upright.
Liverpool went in search of the opener in the opening stages of the second half, but poor finishing and decision making from Raheem Sterling let them down.
Brendan Rodgers brought on Daniel Sturridge in the hope of grabbing a goal, while Roberto Martinez introduced Aaron Lennon to the Everton faithful for the first time.
However, Simon Mignolet had to be at his best in the 87th minute, as he pulled off a fine save to keep out Seamus Coleman's effort from close range.
That proved to be the final effort of the game, as the game ended all square.
