Date: 16 September 2016
Venue: Stamford Bridge
Chelsea suffered their first defeat of the season, as they went down 2-1 to Liverpool at Stamford Bridge on Friday evening.
John Terry was ruled out with an injury, which allowed David Luiz to make his first start since re-joining the Blues on Deadline Day.
Liverpool enjoyed an encouraging start and broke the deadlock after 16 minutes when an un-marked Dejan Lovren side-footed from six-yards out.
The Reds doubled their advantage in the 37th minute as Gary Cahill's clearance landed at the feet of Jordan Henderson, who curled the ball into the top corner from 25-yards out.
Chelsea only had two efforts at goal in the entire opening half, while the likes of Diego Costa, Willian and Eden Hazard were very quiet.
Despite leading, Jurgen Klopp went for an attacking change after 57 minutes, as he introduced Divock Origi for Daniel Sturridge.
The Blues eventually pulled one back after 60 minutes when Nemanja Matic got to the byline before picking out Costa, who side-footed home from close range, 2-1.
With 10 minutes remaining, Antonio Conte opte for a triple change by introducing Cesc Fabregas, Pedro and Victor Moses.
The Blues pushed for an equalsing goal in the closing stages but could not bypass the Liverpool defence.
The victory moves Klopp's charges into the top four, while Chelsea have dropped to third.
