Diego Costa was back among the goals, as Chelsea recorded a 2-0 win over Aston Villa at Stamford Bridge.
Jose Mourinho made a couple changes to the staring line-up, which saw Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Pedro being handed starts, while Nemanja Matic and Eden Hazard dropped to the bench.
The Blues nearly broke the deadlock after just seven minutes, but Ruben Loftus-Cheek's curling effort sailed inches wide of the upright.
Villa had a chance of their own in the 11th minute when Allen Hutton broke forward, before forcing Asmir Begovic into a fine save from close range.
Mourinho's men eventually broke the deadlock in the 34th minute, as Willian took advantage of Brad Guzan's poor pass to tee up Diego Costa for an easy tap-in.
The home side squandered a chance just before the halftime break, as Loftus-Cheek weaved his way into the box, before firing just wide of the target.
Chelsea doubled their advantage 10 minutes into the second half, as Fabgreas picked out Costa with a fine pass, before the striker's effort was deflected in off Hutton at the near post.
Micah Richards came to Villa's rescue in the 69th minute Costa broke through on goal, however the defender popped up with a superb tackle to deny the striker a certain goal.
Villa nearly reduced the deficit in the 71st minute when Carlos Gil picked out Joleon Lescott at the far post, but the defender's header was cleared away by Cesar Azpilicueta.
Cesc Fabregas nearly got his name on the score-sheet in the 80th minute, as the Spaniard collected a pass from Willian, before firing a low effort inches wide of the upright.
Nonetheless, the Blues managed to see out the rest of the game with relative ease to end their winless run.
