English Star To Break Neymar's World Record Transfer?

English Star To Break Neymar's World Record Transfer?

By Keegan Kruger - Sep 15, 2017 06:30 PM @KeeganKruger

An English star could reportedly replace Paris Saint-Germain superstar Neymar as the world’s most expensive player next season, should he have a good 2017/18 season and also star at the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

Football finance expert Raffaele Poli, who is also the head of the Football Observatory at the International Centre for Sports Studies (CIES),  believes that Tottenham Hotspur’s Dele Alli is well placed to break the Brazilian’s €222 million (R3.4 billion) price-tag, should he leave the London club.

"Potentially it can be broken already next year," Poli told OmniSport.

"A player like Dele Alli – if he does well, if he does a good domestic league with Tottenham, if he does a good Champions League campaign, if he does a good World Cup with England next year then I wouldn't be surprised If he moves for more than Neymar's price.

"This wouldn't be a sign of inflation by itself. It depends on how the player performs.”

Based on the CIES algorithm, the England international is currently valued at €182.6 million (R2.86 billion).

I don't think these player valued that much we want to see players play like Messi & Cr7. And it's a shame coz they're 30+ but still dominating football, when think about balloon d'or it's Messi & Cr7 but their value is less coz of their age...
