Gerrard's Villa Back On Track, Spurs Run Riot!

Tottenham Hotspur 3-0 Norwich City

Tottenham Hotspur registered a third straight win after thumping basement side Norwich City 3-0 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Lucas Moura got an early opener, Davinson Sanchez doubled their lead in the 67th minute and Son Heung-Min put the game to bed 13 minutes before time.

Antonio Conte's charges moved up to fifth on the log with 25 points, two points off a top-four spot while Norwich remained at the bottom of the log, four points from safety.

Spurs will switch their focus to the UEFA Europa Conference League on Thursday evening in their last group game against Stade Rennes at home while the Canaries will host Manchester United in their next outing on Saturday evening.

Aston Villa 2-1 Leicester City

Aston Villa returned to winning ways after coming from behind to beat Leicester City at Villa Park.

Harvey Barnes opened the scoring for the Foxes in the 14th minute but Ezri Konsa levelled matters for Steven Gerrard's charges three minutes later.

Jacob Ramsey had a goal for Villa on the stroke of half-time chalked off by the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) for a foul on Leicester goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel.

However, Konsa gave the hosts the lead early in the second stanza and that proved to be the winner, as they leapfrogged Leicester in tenth place on the log, while the Foxes dropped down to 11th, having the same number of points as Villa but have an inferior goal difference.

Villa will be away to Liverpool in their next outing this coming Saturday in the evening, as the Reds legend Gerrard visits his former club while Leicester will be in UEFA Europa League action on Thursday evening away to Napoli in their last group game.

Leeds United 2-2 Brentford

Patrick Bamford netted a stoppage time equaliser for Leeds United to salvage a point against Brentford in a four-goal thriller at Elland Road.

Tyler Roberts broke the deadlock for Leeds just before the half-hour mark but Shandon Baptiste and Sergi Canos got two quick goals to give Brentford a 2-1 lead early in the second stanza.

However, Bamford snatched a dramatic equaliser for the Whites in stoppage time.

A point moved Marcelo Bielsa's charges up to 14th on the log with 16 points while the Bees moved up to 12th with a point above Leeds.

Leeds will resume their league schedule away to Chelsea next Saturday evening while Brentford will be back in action this coming Friday evening at home against Watford.
