Man City Surpass 100 Goals As Liverpool Silence Newcastle

Newcastle United 1-3 Liverpool

Premier League champions Liverpool rallied from behind to secure a 3-1 defeat over Newcastle United on Sunday evening.

Trent Alexander-Arnold, Fabinho, Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane were all named on the bench for the champions.

Newcastle went ahead inside the opening minute, with Dwight Gayle finding the back of the net after being picked out by Jonjo Shelvey.

After spells of frustration, the Reds eventually levelled matters in the 38th minute when Virgil van Dijk rose well to nod home Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain's cross.

The turnaround was complete 15 minutes into the second half when Divock Origi curled home a fine strike into the bottom corner.

Second-half substitute Sadio Mane wrapped up the contest on 89 minutes as the Senegalese forward drifted inside before curling one into the top corner.

The win sees Liverpool finish the campaign with 99 points, meaning Manchester City remain the only side to eclipse the 100-point mark.

Manchester City 5-0 Norwich City

Manchester City surpassed the 100-goal on the final day of the season with a 5-0 thrashing of Norwich City.

The Citizens handed a start to David Silva in his final game for the club, with Bernardo Silva dropping to the bench.

The hosts had the opening goal on 11 minutes through Gabriel Jesus, who fired home close range for his 22nd goal of the season across all competitions.

City nearly added a second goal on 23 minutes when Phil Foden picked out Raheem Sterling in the box, but the winger was unable to keep his header on target.

Pep Guardiola's men eventually got the second goal on the stroke of halftime, with Kevin de Bruyne curling home a fine strike from 20 yards out.

The second half proved to be a comfortable affair for the Citizens, who had to wait until the 79th minute for the third goal when Sterling slotted home from De Bruyne's pass.

Riyad Mahrez got in on the act four minutes later with a neat finish into the bottom corner after a mistake from the Norwich defence.

De Bruyne had the final say as the Belgian completed his brace with a stinging effort into the top corner to round off an impressive win for the Citizens.
