It was a busy Saturday in the English Premier League with ten goals scored across six games as Crystal Palace, Swansea City, Manchester United, Newcastle United, Stoke City and West Bromwich Albion won their respective matches.
Palace were the big scorers on the day after a brace from Glenn Murray and a goal from Scott Dann handed them a 3-1 win over West Ham United at Boleyn Ground.
The real star was Jason Puncheon who created all three goals in Palace’s seventh win of the league season which sees them up to 12th on the table with 30 points while West Ham dropped to ninth with 39 points.
Wayne Rooney scored a brace for Manchester United as they beat Sunderland 2-0 at Old Trafford.
The win sees United up to third on the table with 50 points, two above Arsenal who play Everton on Sunday, while Sunderland dropped to 16th on 25 points, only three points above the relegation zone.
Southampton dropped to fifth on the league table with 46 points following a 1-0 loss to West Brom at the Hawthorns.
Saido Berahino scored in the second minute of the match to hand West Brom their seventh win of the season which sees them up to 13th place with 30 points.
An own goal from Kieran Trippier saw Swansea run out 1-0 winners over Burnley at Turf Moor.
The win sees Swansea up to eighth place with 40 points while Burnley sit in the relegation zone in 18th place with 22 points.
A Peter Crouch goal handed Stoke City a 1-0 win over Hull City at the Britannia stadium to see them remain in tenth place with 39 points while the Tigers sit in 15th place on 26 points.
Papiss Cisse scored Newcastle United’s only goal in their 1-0 win over Aston Villa at St. James’Park.
The result sees Newcastle in 11th place on the table with 35 points while Villa dropped into the relegation zone in 19th place with 22 points.
