West Ham United registered their first win in the English Premier League on Sunday, while Burnley remain rooted to the bottom of the table.
Everton 1-2 West Ham
It was a bad day at the office for Everton who suffered their first loss of the league season after going down 3-1 to West Ham at Goodison Park.
It was a great start to the match for West Ham who took the lead after only nine minutes when Marko Arnautovic played Andriy Yarmolenko through on goal and he made no mistake with just the keeper to beat.
Yarmolenko scored his second goal of the game with a spectacular shot from the edge of the box on the half hour mark to double West Ham’s lead.
Everton did manage to pull a goal back just before half time thanks to a clinical finish from Gylfi Sigurdsson.
West Ham were at it again in the second half and found their third goal on the hour mark when Pedro Obiang played Marko Arnautovic into space inside the box and he duly fired past the keeper to make it 3-1.
The win is West Ham’s first of the league season and sees them out of the relegation zone into 16th place while Everton are in tenth place.
Wolves 1-0 Burnley
A 61st minute from Raul Jimenez handed Wolves a 1-0 win over Burnley at the Molineux Stadium.
The victory is Wolves second of the league season and sees them into the top half of the table in ninth place with eight points after five games.
The loss for Burnley is their fourth out of five games and leaves them firmly rooted to the bottom of the log with only a point to their name.
