English Premier League Wrap 13 May 2018
Tottenham Hotspur clinched third spot after beating Leicester City in a nine-goal thriller, while the final team to be relegated has been confirmed.
Swansea City 1-2 Stoke City
Swansea City could not produce the miracle they needed to avoid the drop and their relegation was confirmed after losing 2-1 to the already-relegated Stoke City.
Andy King gave the Swans hope after netting in the 14th minute but any chances of survival diminished when Badou N’Diaye got the equaliser in the 31st minute for the Potters, before Peter Crouch got the winner for Stoke four minutes before half-time.
The two sides will be campaigning in the Championship next season after finishing 18th and 19th respectively.
Tottenham Hotspur 5-4 Leicester City
Tottenham Hotspur secured third spot in the league with a thrilling 5-4 win over Leicester City.
Harry Kane and Erik Lamela both scored a brace for Spurs and Christian Fuchs netted an own goal for the hosts.
Jamie Vardy also got a brace for the Foxes while Riyad Mahrez and Kelechi Iheanacho were among the goals in a dramatic match that saw Kane score the winner 15 minutes before time.
Spurs finish third while the Foxes end in ninth place.
Burnley 1-2 Bournemouth
Callum Wilson netted in stoppage time for Bournemouth to sink Burnley 2-1 at Turf Moor on Sunday afternoon.
Chris Wood got the opener for Burnley in the 39th minute while Joshua King leveled matters for the Cherries with 15 minutes remaining, before Wilson netted the winner in stoppage time.
The result was inconsequential as Burnley had already secured a European place, finishing seventh on the log while Bournemouth clinched 12th.
Crystal Palace 2-0 West Bromwich Albion
Crystal Palace cruised to a 2-0 victory over already-relegated West Bromwich Albion.
Wilfried Zaha broke the deadlock on 70 minutes for the Eagles and Patrick van Aanholt got the second 12 minutes from the end.
Palace finish 11th while Albion are relegated in last place.
