Newcasle United 1-2 Tottenham Hotspur
Tottenham Hotspur began the season on a positive note after defeating Newcastle United 2-1 at St Jame's Park.
Jan Vertonghen opened the scoring for Spurs in the eighth minute before Joselu restored parity three minutes later.
Dele Alli scored what proved to be the winning goal in the 18th minute.
Bournemouth 2-0 Cardiff City
Goals from Ryan Fraser and Callum Wilson handed Bournemouth a 2-0 win over newly-promoted Cardiff City.
Wilson also had a penalty saved in the first half.
Fulham 0-2 Crystal Palace
Jeffrey Schlupp and Wilfried Zaha were on target to lead Crystal Palace to a 2-0 win over newly-promoted Fulham at Craven Cottage.
Watford 2-0 Brighton and Hove Albion
Watford got their campaign off to a flying start as they defeated Brighton 2-0 at Vicarage Road on Saturday afternoon.
Roberto Pereyra was the hero on the day, netting a brace with a goal in each half.
Wolverhampton Wanderers 2-2 Everton
Newly-promoted Wolves and Everton played to an entertaining 2-2 draw at Molineux on Saturday evening.
Richarlison opened the scoring for Everton on 17 minutes before Ruben Neves hit back in the 44th minute with a free-kick. The visitors also ended the half with 10 men after Phil Jagielka was sent off for a dangerous challenge.
Everton were back in front thanks to Richarlison's neat finish in the 67th minute, but Wolves secured an equaliser thanks to Raul Jimenez.
