Starting XI: Man Utd v Spurs

English Premier League

Teams: Manchester United v Tottenham Hotspur

Date: 28 October 2017

Venue: Old Trafford

Tottenham Hotspur face the perilous task of breaking down a wounded Manchester United at Old Trafford without their star striker, Harry Kane, on Saturday.

The match is scheduled to get underway at 13h30.

Kane tops this season’s Premier League scoring charts with eight goals, including a brace against Liverpool in a 4-1 win last weekend. However, a hamstring injury keeps him out of the side today.

To make matters worse for Spurs, United have yet to concede at home in the league this season.

However, José Mourinho has had his own problems to deal with. Last weekend, United lost 2-1 to Huddersfield Town.

They recovered in midweek with a 2-0 Carabao Cup win over Swansea City, but they head into today’s match five points behind league leaders Manchester City and under severe pressure.

Tottenham lost 3-2 to West Ham United in the Carabao Cup, but will take heart from the fact that they claimed a 2-1 win in their last clash with the Red Devils in May.

Spurs sit third in the league, trailing United only on goal difference. Having struggled with the transition from White Hart Lane to Wembley, they have dropped seven points at home already, but have won all four of their away games.

At least one of that record and United’s unblemished defensive record at home has to fall today in a game that may well have a say in deciding the title race.

Here's how they line up:

Man Utd: De Gea; Bailly, Jones, Smalling; Valencia, Herrera, Matic, Young; Mkhitaryan, Lukaku, Rashford.

Spurs: Lloris; Aurier, Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Davies; Dier, Winks; Sissoko, Dele, Eriksen; Son.
