English Premier League
Teams: Manchester United v Manchester City
Date: 10 December 2017
Venue: Old Trafford
The early Premier League pacesetters go head-to-head at Old Trafford on Sunday as Manchester United host a rampant Manchester City.
The match is scheduled to get underway at 15h30.
José Mourinho will square off against old foe Pep Guardiola, with whom he endured many titanic tussles while managing Real Madrid against Barcelona.
The Portuguese poured petrol on old flames when he suggested that he would not be allowed to take a political message to the pitch in the way that Guardiola has with his yellow ribbon in support of the struggle for Catalonia’s independence.
Guardiola is unlikely to be perturbed, having once infamously retorted that Mourinho deserved his own Champions League for his off-field comments.
On the pitch, Manchester City have done all of the talking this season. A win over United would be their 14th in a row in the Premier League — a record for a single season.
City hold an eight point lead over United at the summit of the table heading into this clash and an away win could just about kill off the Red Devils’ title hopes.
Here's how they line up:
Man Utd: De Gea; Rojo, Smalling, Valencia, Young; Herrera, Matic, Lingard; Rashford, Martial, Lukaku.
Man City: Ederson; Walker, Otamendi, Kompany, Delph; Fernandinho, Silva, De Bruyne; Sterling, Sane, Jesus.
