Result: West Ham United 0-4 Manchester City
Date: 24 November 2018
Venue: London Stadium
Manchester City proved too strong for West Ham United as they eased to a 4-0 win, with Raheem Sterling and Leroy Sane playing starring roles.
The Citizens got off to a fine start as Raheem Sterlin broke down the right flank before his cross deflected into David Silva, who poked home past Lukasz Fabianski.
The lead was doubled in the 19th minute as Leroy Sane skipped past Pablo Zabaleta before firing a cross into the box, where Sterling was on hand to slot home.
Sterling was a menace throughout and he had a hand in City's third goal as he repaid the favour by setting up Sane, who calmly slotted home from six-yards out.
West Ham, who looked threatening in the early stages, looked out of ideas whenever they were on the ball, while they failed to make any of their counter attacks count.
However, the hosts came out a better side in the second half and nearly pulled a goal back in the 58th minute when Michail Antonio hit the upright.
With the Citizens comfortably leading, Pep Guardiola opted to introduce to Phil Foden and Riyad Mahrez for the final 20 minutes of the half.
The Hammers did manage to carve out a couple chances at goal as the half went on, with Cresswell going closest with an effort from distance.
Sane managed to round off the scoring in the final stages of the half, with a smashing finish from close range after some good work by Gabriel Jesus.
