Chelsea's Unbeaten Run Ended By Impressive Spurs

English Premier League
Result: Tottenham Hotspur 3-1 Chelsea
Date: 24 November 2018
Venue: Wembley Stadium
Chelsea's unbeaten run in the Premier League came to an end on Saturday evening, after they lost 3-1 to London rivals Tottenham Hotspur.
Spurs got the opening goal after just seven minutes when Christian Eriksen's free-kick was nodded home by Dele Alli at the near post.
The lead was doubled in the 15th minute as Harry Kane was afforded time and space to unleash a long range strike that left Kepa Arrizabalaga flat-footed.
Chelsea, meanwhile, were left shell-shocked by Spurs' blistering start as they found it tough carve out chances of their own, with Eden Hazard and Willian being kept quiet.
That proved to be a trend for the rest of the opening stanza for the visitors as Spurs shop-stopper Hugo Lloris barley had a save to make.
Son Heung-min went close to bagging a third just before the halftime break, but the South Korean's volley was impressively turned away by Arrizabalaga.
Son was not to be denied ten minutes into the second half as the Spurs attacker collected a pass from Alli before skipping past two players and slotting into the far corner.
Spurs should have had a fourth goal in the 67 minute after Kane was left un-marked in the six-yard box, but the England international somehow sent his effort over the crossbar.
The Blues did manage to pull a goal back in the 85th minute as Cesar Azpilicueta's cross found Olivier Groud, who sent a fine header into the far corner.
In the end, Giroud's goal was nothing more than a consolation as Spurs held on for the three points and bragging rights.
