Date: 30 April 2017
Venue: White Hart Lane
Goals from Dele Alli and Harry Kane saw Tottenham Hotspur claim a 2-0 win over Arsenal in the North London derby at White Hart Lane.
Spurs saw a lot of the ball in the opening stages of the first half with Chirstian Eriksen and Alli seeing a lot of the ball.
The hosts carved out their first opening after 21 minutes but Alli headed wide of the upright with the goal at his mercy.
Spurs went even closer four minutes later when Eriksen struck the top of the crossbar from six-yards out with Petr Cech well beaten.
Arsenal, meanwhile, struggled to get their usual game going and failed to carve out a single clear-cut opening in the first half.
Spurs eventually broke the deadlock in the 55th minute when Alli poked home from close range, after Eriksen's shot deflected into the midfielder's path.
The hosts were then awarded a penalty two minutes later when Harry Kane was brought down in the box. The striker took the spot-kick himself and slotted into the bottom corner, 2-0.
Wenger responded by introducing Danny Welbeck and Hector Bellerin for the remaining stages of the second half.
Spurs nearly added a third goal in the 83rd minute but Petr Cech produced a superb reflex to save to keep out Toby Alderweireld's glancing header.
Nonetheless, Mauricio Pochettino managed frustrate the Arsenal attack for the rest of the half, as they close the gap between themselves and Chelsea to four points,
The win also means Spurs will finish above the Gunners in the Premier League for the first time since 1995.
