Spurs Smash Man City At White Hart Lane

English Premier League
Result: Tottenham 4-1 Manchester City
Date: 26 September 2015
Venue: White Hart Lane
Tottenham were in sublime form on Saturday as they toppled Manchester City 4-1 in the English Premier League.
The Sky Blues took the lead in the 25th minute as their record signing Kevin De Bruyne added yet another goal to his tally. Yaya Toure broke away on a counter attack and sent a perfectly weighted through-ball to the German who placed his shot past Hugo Lloris.
City looked set to take their advantage into the break but a controversial equaliser on the stroke of half-time put an end to those hopes. Willy Caballero made a great save from Son but a poor clearance from De Bruyne gave Spurs the ball and resulted in Eric Dier finding the back of the net. The build-up to the goal saw a City player clearly offside but the assistant didn't spot the infringement.
Spurs had the momentum on their side after the interval and made it count as they took the lead for the first time. A terrific free kick from Erik Lamela picked out Toby Alderweireld who headed into the open goal after Caballero found himself in no-man's land.
The lead was doubled just past the hour mark as Harry Kane netted his first Premier League goal of the season. Eriksen found the woodwork with a powerful shot and Kane was on hand to direct a brilliant half-volley past Caballero.
Spurs put the game to bed in the 79th minute as Lamela added a fourth. Clinton N'Jie sent a low cross straight to Lamela who beat two defenders before firing into the back of the visitors' net.
