Klopp's Liverpool Held To Goalless Draw At Spurs

English Premier League
Result: Tottenham 0-0 Liverpool
Date: 17 October 2015
Venue: White Hart Lane
Jurgen Klopp got his managerial stint at Liverpool underway with a goalless draw at Tottenham in the Premier League on Saturday.
The Reds had a wonderful chance to take the lead in the 10th minute when a corner kick found Divock Origi at the far post. His headed effort hit the crossbar and was swiftly collected by Hugo Lloris before Martin Skrtel could tap it in.
Simon Mignolet was called upon to keep the scores level after Adam Lallana lost the ball in a dangerous position in the 28th minute. Harry Kane took advantage of it as he initiated a counter attack. He set it up for N'Jie to strike but his first-time shot was parried away.
Spurs had two great chances to break the deadlock before the break. Kane had the first chance which saw him one-on-one with Mignolet but couldn't beat the keeper with his low shot. Allie then got the loose ball on the edge of the box but his strike was blocked.
Klopp's charges seemed to have the ascendancy after the interval and were putting Tottenham under pressure around the 70-minute mark as Coutinho tried to conjure up a chance for Lallana.
With five minutes left on the clock Mignolet pulled off another top save to keep the scoreboard goalless. Eriksen went on a marauding run before cutting inside to tee up Kane, but his powerful effort was kept out.
