Result: Swansea City 1-0 Liverpool
Date: 22 January 2018

Liverpool failed to build on the impressive win over Manchester City as they lost 1-0 to relegation-threatened Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium.
The Reds dominated possession in the early stages of the first half but the Swans defence remained resolute to deny the visitors an early goal.
Virgil van Dijk had a chance to put Liverpool ahead after 22 minutes but he failed to direct his header on target from close range.
Seven minutes later, the Reds squandered another chance when Mohamed Salah volleyed over the crossbar with only Lukasz Fabianski to beat from 12-yards out.
Swansea barely threatened in the half, but they broke the deadlock five minutes before the break courtesy of Alfie Mawson's close range finish, 1-0.
After a subdued start to the second half, Salah nearly restored parity on the hour mark but his curling free-kick was superbly tipped over the crossbar by Fabianski.
Jurgen Klopp opted for a change in the 70th minute as Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain made way for Adam Lallana.
The Reds threw numbers forward in pursuit of an equalising goal, while the hosts defended with 11 men in their own half.
Liverpool went agonisingly close to leveling matters in the fourth minute of stoppage time but Roberto Firmino struck the upright with a header as Swansea held on for the win.
