English Premier League
Result : Swansea City v Chelsea
Date: 11 September 2016
Venue: Liberty Stadium
Diego Costa netted a brace to help Chelsea secure a point, as they drew 2-2 with Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium.
Deadline day signings, David Luiz and Marcos Alonso had to settle for a spot on the bench along with Cesc Fabregas.
After a slow start, the Blues broke the deadlock after 18 minutes when Oscar teed up Diego Costa, who placed the ball into the far corner.
The Swans nearly hit back just before the halftime break, Gylfi Sigurdsson's effort from 25-yards out sailed inches wide of the upright.
Swansea were then awarded a penalty after 58 minutes when Sigurdsson was brought down by Thibaut Courtois. The midfielder stepped up and made no mistake from the spot, 1-1.
The hosts then went ahead a few minutes later when Leroy Fer robbed Gary Cahill of the ball, before slotting through the legs of Courtois.
With Chelsea trailing, Antonio Conte introduced Victor Moses and Cesc Fabgreas with 20 minutes to play.
The visitors eventually leveled matters after 80 minutes courtesy of Costa's acrobatic effort from six-yards out for his second of the game.
Both sides pushed for a winner in the closing stage, but neither of them could find the all important goal and were forced to settle for a point.
