Sergio Aguero bagged a brace to inspire Manchester City to a 4-1 win over Stoke City on Saturday afternoon.
Yaya Toure was left out of the match day squad for the third successive match, while Joe Hart settled for a spot on the bench again.
After a cagey opening 20 minutes, City were awarded a penalty when Ryan Shawcross fouled Nicolas Otamendi. Sergio Augero stepped up and made no mistake from 12-yards out, 1-0.
City doubled their lead after 35 minutes when Aguero head home Kevin De Bruyne's free-kick for his second of the game.
Pep Guardiola's charges were in control for most of the half, while Stoke only registered one effort on target in the opening stanza.
However, Stoke awarded a penalty of their own shortly after the break and Bojan Krkic calmly converted the spot-kick, 2-1.
Both managers opted to make change on 70 minutes, as Guardiola brought on Nolito for Jesus Navas, while John Walters replaced Giannelli Imbula for the hosts.
City grabbed their third goal in the 85th minute. Kelechi Iheanacho was pushed wide by Shay Given, but was able to pick out Nolito, who slotted home from six-yards out.
The visitors rounded off the scoring in stoppage time as Raheem Sterling, who was through on goal, teed up Nolito for the easiest of tap-ins, 4-1.
