Manchester United's winning start to the Premier League season came to an end, after they drew 2-2 with Stoke City on Saturday evening.
Ander Herrera was handed his first league start of the season, with Juan Mata being dropped to the bench.
Stoke enjoyed an encouraging start to the first half and put United on the back foot on a couple occasions.
Marcus Rashford could have handed United the lead after 23 minutes, but the striker failed to beat Jack Butland from close range.
The home side eventually broke the deadlock just before the halftime break when Eric-Choupo Mouting turned home Diouf's cross.
Stoke's joy was short-lived as a couple minutes later Paul Pogba's header deflected off Rashford and sailed into the back of the net.
Just over 10 minutes into the second half, United took the lead as Henrikh Mkitaryan played in Lakuku, who was denied by Butland initially but managed to slot home the rebound.
However, Stoke leveled matters in the 62nd minute when Choupo-Mouting rose above Phil Jones and headed home at the far post.
Mourinho repsonded with a double change on 71 minutes as Mata and Martial replaced Herrera and Rashford.
Lukaku should have restored United's lead in the 81st minute but the Belgian strike fired over the crossbar with only Butland to beat.
Both sides pushed for a winning goal in the closing stages, but they were unable to get the important strike.
