Premier League champions Manchester City became the first side to reach 100 points in England's top-flight after defeating Southampton 1-0 thanks to a late winner from Gabriel Jesus.
The Citizens headed into the final day of the English campaign on the back of a 3-1 win over Brighton and Hove Albion on Wednesday evening.
The Saints nearly broke the deadlock on Sunday after just eight minutes when Wesley Hoedt rattled the crossbar with a thumping header following a corner.
Hoedt had another chance to give the home side the lead after 24 minutes but he failed to hit the target with a volley at the far post.
That proved to be the final chance of the first half as Pep Guardiola's men struggled to mount any serious attempts at Alex McCarthy's goal.
City's first chance arrived after 56 minutes but Fernandinho blazed horribly over the crossbar after some good work by Kevin de Bruyne.
McCarthy came to Southampton's rescue after 62 minutes as he produced a good save to keep out John Stones' header just moments before Raheem Sterling hit the upright.
In the 77th minute, the Saints went agonisingly close to taking the lead but Dusan Tadic's effort was cleared off the line.
City eventually broke the deadlock in the third minute of stoppage time as Jesus latched onto a pass from De Bruyne before slotting past McCarthy to make it a century of Premier League points in 2017/18.
